I lived in Northern California when the photos on this page were taken--actually, when most of these were teken. I was lucky enough to be able to travel with the San Jose guys to contest at Del Mar. Back then, the NorCal versus SoCal thing was even more... ridiculous than it is now. People from Northen California hate Southern California, and people in Southern California don't really think about the whole rivalry thing at all. It is a different attitude up north, but that's a story for someone else to write. Anyway, these are all San Jose guys who came to Del Mar and conquered: if it wasn't the contest, it was always the girls, and in the amount of fun they had... it's odd that these are all invert photos...
