| GSD and I went to Burdines, in Orlando, Florida, the other day. We were sort of expecting what we saw, but were both half-heartedly hoping that the famous transitions were still skateable. We knew well that it was unlikely, but we'd never heard of the demise of this long time skate spot. Well, now we have. They put planters in front of the trannies, ruining them forever. But check out those trannies! Neil Blender had a photo in a very early Transworld about 2-3 feet above that seam, where it turns to white--way up the vert. He was turning frontside. Then, in the late 80's Tod Swank had a photo, I think he was going over one of the doors. There was a double door and a single, and the trannies are about a perfect 8 feet to vert. Another spot gone--another dream becomes a nightmare... | |||
