Garry—I'll get some photos together. They're pretty shitty, but I'll dig around. My parents have been cleaning my stuff out of their house and making regular dumps here at the Workshop. I know that [Chris] Carter has his original membership card from Apple—he brags about it quite often.Mike Hill, Dayton, Ohio, 12-4-01

Garry—Great idea with the Apple Skatepark site. Me and [Chris] Carter talk about Apple all the time. I'll get some photos together. Brett [Martin] is gonna be so stoked to hear about this project.Mike Hill, Dayton, Ohio, 11-15-01

Garry—You might want to try and get an update on all the info I gave you from Dave Bush, just so its right. My memory isn't the best. Are you in a band anymore? I remember you being pretty damned good on the guitar. I am blown away by what people will pay for skate nostaglia. I saw this old friend today, he had a big Claus Grabke sticker and said he could get $50 for it on eBay. I had to laugh. I told him I have a bunch of stickers in my in my garage somewhere, but there's no way I would sell 'em now. Hell, I'll wait ten more years and maybe they'll be worth even more, or maybe not. But it floors me what people will pay. Its just weird!

I started skating the Vans park in Milpitas last year when they opened it, but after a while I didn't go, then it became harder to get back to the level I was at, so I quit going. Maybe this year I'll go again. Its funny, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of the weightless feeling skating offers. Its one of the best highs in life. Sucks getting older and the body not being able to go where it once could without any thought. Talk soon.Rob Roskopp, 11-14-01

Hi Garry—Loooong time! What are you up to these days? When I got out of the skateboarding industry around 1992, I lost touch with most people and what they were doing. I don't race bikes anymore, too busy working! I own part of Santa Cruz Bicycles, so that's what I've been up to. I have a wife, my girl Mara is almost five, a two-and-a-half year-old son named Harrison and one more on the way. Busy, busy, busy!

So, you're making a web site about Apple Skatepark. Man, there's some serious history there—brings back some great memories. I have stayed in touch with a few of the Apple guys over the years. Dave Bush was a buyer for a bike chain up until a few months ago, but I haven't spoken with him since. Last time I saw Chris Phillips was back in '87 when I did a demo in Iowa. Mike Ohm lives in Virginia Beach and manages a snowboard / bike shop. Wayne Lyons moved back East and got married from what Dave told me. He lived in LA for years working as a professional photographer, but its been years since I have spoken with him.

Mike Grau lives in Cincinnati—I emailed back and forth with him earlier this year. He's teaching his kids how to skate and is getting into mountain biking, too. Kevin Tate lives in Honolulu. I saw him at a contest there in '89, but haven't spoken with him since. I have no idea about Bobby Reeves, but Bill Fergusson might. I will get back to you later on the questions. Take it easy.Rob Roskopp, 11-14-01
